In a culture which seems to be "all about me," it is easy to become wrapped up in ourselves. If we are not careful, we may quickly find that we are living stagnant lives, lazy and unwilling to move forward. Today, we are going to take about this tendency toward laziness and discover that God has a better way for us. We will be challenged to abandon laziness and take up diligence and a strong work ethic. As a church, we are praying that you would "Be Brave!"
Who is the hardest working person you know? Why?
1. Why are people today tempted to be lazy? When are you most tempted to be lazy?
2. Read Colossians 3:23-25. Why are believers called to work hard?
Colossians 3:23-25 Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ. But if you do what is wrong, you will be paid back for the wrong you have done. For God has no favorites.

3. If Jesus came to work with you tomorrow, how would you work differently?
4. Does fear ever keep you from moving forward? Why or why not?
5. What can you do to combat fear when it keeps you from doing what God has called you to do?
6. Read 1 Corinthians 15:58. What is the promise made to us as we work diligently? How does this understanding affect your work ethic?
1 Corinthians 15:58 So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.

7. Read James 4:13-17. In what area is God calling you to Be Brave this year? What step toward bravery can you take this week?
James 4:13-17 Look here, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we are going to a certain town and will stay there a year. We will do business there and make a profit.” How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone. What you ought to say is, “If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that.” Otherwise you are boasting about your own pretentious plans, and all such boasting is evil. Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.

As believers, we know that the most important thing God has called us to do is tell others about Him. Take a few moments to give each other an update on the progress you have made sharing your faith. Have you been intentionally building relationships with those who do not know Christ? Have you had an opportunity to tell them the good news of Jesus Christ? After you have shared, pray for each other and the unbelievers in your lives. Pray that God would use this group to bring others to Him.
