So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. Genesis 1:27
...He has planted eternity in the human heart... Ecclesiastes 3:11
Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind. For God will bring every deed into judgement, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil. Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
To make the most of our time in life, God must be in the center of our life.
1. Fear God and keep His commandments.
...Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind. Ecclesiastes 12:13
“Fearing God means that we recognize that we are the creature and He is the Creator. He is great and majestic and all-powerful, and we are small and weak.”
“...an inner condition of awe and amazement and wonder before the magnitude of the love and the power and the greatness of God. It’s an inner condition of awe and respect, of fear and trembling, of amazement before not only the power and the holiness but the love and the mercy of God... The fear of God means to have God look so huge, so glorious, so wonderful, to in a sense bow under the weight of the magnitude of his greatness...” – Tim Keller
“Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, The Lord Almighty.” Isaiah 6:5
...“See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.” Isaiah 6:7
...“Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”... Isaiah 6:8
...“Here am I. Send me!” Isaiah 6:8
The king of Egypt said to the Hebrew midwives, whose names were Shiphrah and Puah, “When you are helping the Hebrew women during childbirth on the delivery stool, if you see that the baby is a boy, kill him; but if it is a girl, let her live.” Exodus 1:15-16
The midwives, however, feared God and did not do what the king of Egypt had told them to do; they let the boys live. Exodus 1:17
So God was kind to the midwives and the people increased and became even more numerous. And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families of their own. Exodus 1:20-21
2. Keep your judgement day in mind.
For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil. Ecclesiastes 12:14
For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body. 2 Corinthians 5:10
