Take A Vow: Putting God First

1. We have to get in the center of our .

Can two people walk together without agreeing on the direction? Amos 3:3

Husbands, love your wives just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her. Ephesians 5:25

But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Galatians 5:22

1. Read one chapter of God's word each day for the rest of your life.

2. Pray with your spouse.

3. We have to step it up in putting the needs of our spouse ahead of our own.

A man will leave his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh. Genesis 2:24

"Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave — just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." Matthew 20:26-28

How are we doing on serving each other?

What is one thing I could do that would cause you to feel more loved by me?

What is one thing I could stop doing that would cause you to feel more loved by me?

Am I meeting your needs?

In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:5-11
