Take a Vow: Moving from Feelings to Commitment

1. The "" Stage.

Like a lily among thorns is my darling among the maidens. Like an apple tree among the trees of the forest is my lover among the young men. I delight to sit in his shade and his fruit is sweet to my taste. He's taken me to the banquet hall and his banner over me is love. Strengthen me with raisins, refresh me with apples, for I am faint with love. Listen! My lover! Look! Here he comes, leaping across the mountains, bounding over the hills. Song of Songs 2:2-5, 8

How beautiful you are, my darling! Oh, how beautiful! Your eyes behind your veil are doves. Your hair is like a flock of goats... Your teeth are like a flock of sheep... Each has its twin; not one of them is alone. Your lips are like a scarlet ribbon; your mouth is lovely. Your temples behind your veil are like the halves of a pomegranate. Your neck is like the tower of David, built with elegance. Song of Songs 4:1-4

2. The "Let's Get Ready To " Stage.

I slept but my heart was awake... My lover is knocking. Song of Songs 5:2

My head is drenched with the dew, my hair with the dampness of the night. I have taken off my robe - must I put it on again? Song of Songs 5:2-3

3. The "Am I Going To Be Led By My And What I , Or Am I Going To Be Led By My " Stage.

"My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will." Matthew 26:39

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." John 13:34-35
