Pressure Point: How to Pray

1. Pray if we are in .

Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. James 5:13

2. Pray when life is . 

Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. James 5:13

3. Pray when we are .

Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.   And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. James 5:14-15

1. We need to pray with .

According to your faith it will be done for you. Matthew 9:29

2. We need to have a right relationship .

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.  James 5:16

This is how I want you to conduct yourself in these matters. If you enter your place of worship and, about to make an offering, you suddenly remember a grudge a friend has against you, abandon your offering, leave immediately, go to this friend and make things right. Then and only then, come back and work things out with God. Matthew 5:23-24

In the same way, you husbands must give honor to your wives. Treat her with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God's gift of new life. If you don't treat her as you should, your prayers will not be heard. 1 Peter 3:7

3. We need to be . 

Elijah was a man just like us. James 5:17

He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops. James 5:17-18
