Party Pooper: Wedding Party

"The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, 'Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.' But wisdom is proved right by her actions." Matthew 11:19

On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus' mother was there, and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. When the wine was gone, Jesus' mother said to him, "They have no more wine." "Dear woman, why do you involve me?" Jesus replied, "My time has not yet come." His mother said to the servants, "Do whatever he tells you." John 2:1-5

Mary turned to the servants and said, "Do whatever he tells you." Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons. Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the jars with water"; so they filled them to the brim. Then he told them, "Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet." They did so, and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside and said, "Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now." This, the first of his miraculous signs, Jesus performed in Cana of Galilee. He thus revealed his glory, and his disciples put their faith in him. John 2:5-11

Wine is a mocker and beer a brawler; whoever is led astray by them is not wise. Proverbs 20:1

Romans 13 tells us that we are to obey the laws of the land.

The Bible teaches that you should never be drunk.

The Bible also says that we should not do anything to cause someone else to stumble in the faith.

> Do you drink more today than you did a year ago?

> Do you hide your drinking from people who are close to you?

> Can you quit for just a week without being depressed or irritated?

> Have you drunk too much and gotten drunk?

> Are you willing to prove it?

Go, eat your food with gladness, and drink your wine with a joyful heart... Ecclesiastes 9:7

"...I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord..." Luke 2:10-11
