Train up a child in the way he should go: And when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6

4 Mistakes that Parents Make

1. Parents don't monitor their kids media.

As a man thinks so he is. Proverbs 23:7

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things. Philippians 4:8

2. Parents don't know their kids friends and their families.

Do not be misled. “Bad company corrupts good character.” I Corinthians 15:33

He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm. Proverbs 13:20

3. Parents refuse to have the hard conversations with their kids.

Be very careful, then, how you live--not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Ephesians 5:15-16

4. Parents don't encourage their kids in their relationship with God.

Stories we heard from our fathers, counsel we learned at our mother's knee. We're not keeping this to ourselves, we're passing it along to the next generation—God's fame and fortune, the marvelous things he has done. Psalm 78:3-4
