Message Notes

I Doubt It: Is Jesus the Only Way?

Is Jesus really the only way?

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

Myth #1: All religions are basically the same.

“The gospel says you are simultaneously more sinful and flawed than you ever dared believe, yet more loved and accepted than you ever dared hope.”– Tim Keller

Myth #2: Christianity is one philosophy among many.

Because of Jesus, Christianity is not a philosophy. It’s a reality.

Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” Mark 2:4–5

“Which is easier: to say to this paralyzed man, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, take your mat and walk’?" Mark 2:9

But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the man, “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.” He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this!” Mark 2:10–12

He answered, “A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. Matthew 12:39

And if Christ has not been raised, then all our preaching is useless, and your faith is useless. 1 Corinthians 15:14

Myth #3: Christians are narrow-minded.

Jesus is saying there is no one else coming for you.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
