Message Notes

God's Not Dead

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun. It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is deprived of its warmth. Psalm 19:1–6

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood  from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. Romans 1:20

1. God speaks through creation.

Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. Psalm 19:2

They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. Psalm 19:3–4

In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun. It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is deprived of its warmth. Psalm 19:4–6

The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’ Psalm 14:1

2. God speaks through His word.

The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes. The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever. The decrees of the Lord are firm, and all of them are righteous. Psalm 19:7–9

The Word is...
• Perfect. It refreshes our soul.
• Trustworthy. It makes us wise.
• Right. It brings joy to our life.
• Radiant. It gives light to our path.
• Pure. It establishes a healthy respect for God.
• Firm. It will benefit our whole life.

When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him. I need Jesus. Psalm 8:3–4
