We are approaching the end of this class, but we are not done yet! The chapters we have left to discuss and read as we conclude our Bible study together have much to teach us. Over the last week, you finished reading 1st Corinthians and then read the first five chapters of 2nd Corinthians. The Scripture you read last week is a reminder to live with eternity in mind, remembering the hope we have in Christ, even amidst our present difficulties, and the responsibility we have to make Christ known in our world today. Let’s take a few minutes to discuss these chapters that we read and learn from God’s word together.
1. What hope does Paul give readers of 1st Corinthians 15 regarding the resurrection?
2. How is the new covenant better than the Old Covenant, according to Paul in 2nd Corinthians 3:7–18?
3. Read 2nd Corinthians 4:16–18. Compare and contrast our present troubles versus the things that are eternal and will last forever.
4. How did Paul persevere amidst difficulties, according to 2nd Corinthians 4:18? How can we follow Paul’s example in our world today?
5. What responsibility do we have as Christ followers, according to 2nd Corinthians 5?
Who is someone you know who is far from Christ who needs the hope He has to offer? How can you reach out to them with the hope of Christ this week? Maybe you can share the Bridge Diagram, share your 2-minute story, or invite that person to church this weekend. Whatever you decide, share with your the person who you are going to share your faith with and the step you will take this week to share the hope of Christ with them.
Read 2nd Corinthians chapters 6–13 using your Study Bible. Read the Bible study notes that correspond with the passage of Scripture you are reading. As you read, use your journal we provided for you to complete the SOAP method for each chapter of 2nd Corinthians that you read.
