Mark, 1st and 2nd Timothy, Titus, 1st and 2nd Corinthians: Week 7

Mrk,1 Tim, 2 Tim, Tit, 1 Cor, and 2 Cor: Week 7

1st Corinthians 8-14

We have reached Week 7 of our Bible study together, and we are currently reading our way through the book of 1st Corinthians. Last week, you read 1st Corinthians 8–14. This Scripture addresses Paul’s endurance and missionary strategy, the hope we have in Christ amidst temptation, the spiritual gifts that are given to Christ followers by the Holy Spirit, and more. Today, we will discuss all that God taught us as we read through 1st Corinthians chapters 8–14.

1ST CORINTHIANS 8–14

1. What particularly impacted you during your Bible study reading this week?

2. Read 1st Corinthians 9:22–23. Summarize Paul’s teaching in this passage of Scripture. What would it look like in our world today to have the same mindset as Paul in this passage of Scripture?

3. Read 2nd Corinthians 10:12–13. What promise does Paul give in this passage of Scripture? What are some of the ways out of temptation that God gives us today?

4. What is the purpose of spiritual gifts, and what are some of the ways that God has gifted you?

5. What did Paul teach about love in 1st Corinthians 13? Why is love an essential ingredient when it comes to serving God and the people around us?

Now that you have shared some of the ways God has gifted you, think about one way that you can use your gifts to serve at Sagebrush. Take a look at sagebrush.church/serve to explore the different serving opportunities to serve at Sagebrush. Share with your group one area at Sagebrush that you might be able to use your gifts to serve. Commit to finding out more information about that service opportunity this week.
