Over the last 6 weeks of this By the Book Course, we have covered a lot of ground. Last week, you read 1st Peter chapters 2-5 and 2nd Peter chapters 1-3. The Scripture we read over the last week reminded us of the difference Christ has made in our lives, and how what He has done for us impacts our everyday living. Discuss what you learned as you read these books of the Bible with your group and answer the questions below:
1. What particularly impacted you during your Bible study reading this week?
2. Read 1st Peter 2:11-12. Summarize how Christ followers are to relate to this world and the things of this world and why.
3. Read 1st Peter 5:8-11. What hope does Peter give us about suffering in this passage of Scripture?
4. Read 2nd Peter 2:3-11. What is the evidence that we are followers of Christ, according to this passage of Scripture?
5. Read 2nd Peter 3:8-9. Why, according to this passage of Scripture, has Jesus delayed His return?
Look back at 2nd Peter 2:3-11 at the evidence Peter listed that we are followers of Christ. In what area would you like to grow? After sharing the area you would like to grow, share one step you can take this week to grow in that area.
This week your homework is to read the first seven chapters of Hebrews. Watch the Hebrews Introduction Video, where Pastor Todd will introduce the book of Hebrews. This book of the Bible, written with those who were facing persecution in mind, encourages us to keep following Jesus. It calls us to persevere, refusing to give up and to keep running the race that God has called us to.
Read Hebrews chapters 1-7,* one chapter for every day, using your Study Bible. Read the Bible study notes that correspond with the passage of Scripture you are reading. As you read, use your journal we provided for you to complete the SOAP method for each chapter of Hebrews that you read.
*Before you dive into studying the book of Hebrews, take time to read the introduction to Hebrews in your Study Bible. As you read, answer the questions below.

2. What is the purpose of Hebrews?
3. What are some of the key themes of Hebrews?
End your time together in prayer. Thank God for the way He changes our lives when we place our faith in Him. Ask Him to help each one of you to live in wisdom and obedience so that you honor Him with every step you take.
