Welcome to session two of “How to Share Your Faith”! We hope you have begun to develop a passion for sharing your faith with the people around you. This week, we are going to practice sharing the Bridge Diagram, learn the importance of building intentional relationships, learn how to share your stories of the difference Christ has made in your lives, and more! We hope you are ready to dive into all God hasf in store this week!
Begin your time today by discussing last week’s homework assignment..
1. How was your time praying for your list of people in your life who are far from Christ over the last week? Describe the impact of this consistent prayer.
2. What question did you choose to memorize this week to open the door with others to share your faith? Did you get a chance to ask the question to someone? If so, how did it go?
3. How was your time memorizing the Bridge Diagram? How will this be a helpful tool for you?
For this first exercise, practice the Bridge Diagram. Your leader will divide you all into groups of two or three. Take turns practicing the Bridge Diagram in your groups. We have provided space below for you and your group members to practice. After about 15 minutes, come back together for discussion.
1. What went well while you practiced the Bridge Diagram?
2. Where is there room for improvement in sharing the Bridge Diagram?
3. What is one step you can take over the next week to better recite the Bridge Diagram?
Discuss the video with your group:
1. In your own words, describe an intentional relationship.
2. What would it look like for you to develop intentional relationships in your life?
Discuss the video with your group members:
1. Read 1 Peter 3:15-16. Why is preparedness important when it comes to sharing our faith?
15 Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it. 16 But do this in a gentle and respectful way. Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ.
2. What makes our stories so powerful?
Take time right now to write your own 2-minute story of the difference Christ has made in your life. Remember, this story consists of your life before Christ, how you came to know Christ, and the difference Christ has made in your life. We have provided space below for you to write out your story.
Your homework for next week is to practice the things that we talked about during this week’s session. Commit to doing these three things over the next week:
1. Continue learning the Bridge Diagram every day, recognizing the importance of repetition.
2. Start getting in the habit of going to the same place every week with the purpose of building intentional relationships. Go to that place at least one time this week in order to start building these intentional relationships.
3. Work on memorizing your two-minute story every day this week. Come prepared next week ready to share your two-minute story with your group.
