Elementary: Weekly Devotional

Journey - Week 4

Talk to your kids about the difference between a good risk and a bad risk. Explain that some risks need serious thought (jumping off a cliff into water) and some don’t need much thought at all (jumping off a curb into a puddle).

Read Joshua 2:1-14

Were the risks taken by the spies and Rahab good or bad?

When we take risks for God, are the consequences good or bad?

What kind of risks have you taken for God?

Read Philippians 4:11-13

What do it mean to be “content?”

How do you think Paul learned to be content in all circumstances?

How can you learn to be content when taking risks for God?

Close in prayer by thanking God for the example of Paul who learned to be content. Ask God for the courage to take risks for Him.
