Congratulations! After 9 weeks, you have read through the entire books of Luke and Acts. In your homework, you read the last two chapters of Acts, which tell the story of Paul's journey to Rome to be tried before Caesar. On this journey, Paul, the rest of the prisoners sailing to Rome, and several Roman officers who were also on the boat were shipwrecked on the island of Malta. Despite the dangers they faced as they were shipwrecked on Malta, God protected Paul and the rest of the ship's passengers, and His power was clearly seen. We see in the final verses of Acts that once Paul arrived in Rome, not even Paul’s chains from imprisonment could stop Paul from proclaiming the good news of the hope available through Christ Jesus. Let’s spend the next few minutes discussing these last two chapters of Acts as well as reflect on our study of the books of Luke and Acts these last 9 weeks.
What particularly impacted you during your Bible study reading this week?
Why did Paul have confidence throughout all of the difficulties he faced as he journeyed toward Rome?
Look at Acts 28:30-31. What encouragement does this passage of Scripture offer? \
How did Jesus bring hope and healing during His ministry on Earth, and how can you spread His hope with the people around you today?
Now that you have read the entire book of Acts, think about one specific thing that stands out to you after reading this book and how you can apply that truth from God's word in your life. Share this with your group. Then, pray for courage and boldness to apply what you learned from Acts over the next few weeks and beyond.
As this study comes to an end, our hope is that you have formed a habit of reading Scripture every single day. Do not let this habit stop here! Keep reading Scripture. Keep studying your Bible, one chapter at a time, every single day. We have created resources to help you continue this habit of daily Scripture reading that are available on the Sagebrush app, including our Bible reading plans and daily devotions. Please utilize these resources to help you stay consistent with reading your Bible every single day. This simple, but profound habit will change the course of your life if you stick to it!
